The Federal Minimum Wage Is a Poverty Wage
The federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour hasn't changed since 2009. Meanwhile, rent, food, healthcare, and childcare costs have exploded. Working full-time at minimum wage means you're earning $41,746 less than what you need to survive in California.
This is why we demand a $30/hour federal minimum wage indexed to inflation. No one working full-time should live in poverty. Period.

What The Data Shows
35 Years of Data (Jan 1989 – Present)
Since January 1989, the United States has created 51 million jobs total. Of those, 50 million were created under Democratic presidents and 1 million under Republican presidents.
Accounting for Time in Office
Democrats held the presidency for 20 of those 35 years (~57%). Even if job losses and recessions were evenly distributed, you'd expect roughly 60% of economic downturns to occur under Democratic leadership. That's not what the data shows.
The Bottom Line
When measured by job creation over the past 35 years, Democratic presidents have outperformed Republican presidents by a factor of 50 to 1. If you're looking at historical data to predict future job growth, the pattern is clear.
